Tips
Character styles are wrapped in a code block, which uses a fixed-width font so the letters line up. Emoji squares line up on their own, so they paste as a normal message.
Keep it short: a word of 4–6 letters fits on phones without wrapping. Use a new line for each extra word. Letters, numbers and ! ? . , : - + ' are supported, and <3 becomes a heart.

About the Text Art Banner Maker

Text art draws big letters out of small characters, the classic banner look from old terminals and message boards. The Text Art maker turns a short word into a banner made of █ blocks, ▓ shading, # signs, or colored emoji squares, ready to paste into Discord.
Block banners go inside a code block so the letters stay lined up; emoji banners are posted as normal text.

How to use it

1
Type a short word
Up to about eight characters fits on most screens. Letters, numbers and a few symbols are supported, and the maker tells you if a character isn't.
2
Choose a mode
Blocks, Shaded and Hash use text characters inside a code block. Emoji uses colored squares and works outside code blocks. For emoji mode, choose the fill and background colors.
3
Copy and paste
Copy the banner and paste it as its own message. The preview shows the banner the way Discord shows it.

Why block banners use a code block

Discord shows normal messages in a proportional font, where characters have different widths, so letters drawn with spaces would come out crooked. Code blocks use a monospace font where every character is the same width, which keeps the art aligned. That is why the copied text starts and ends with three backticks.

Fitting on phones

Phone screens are narrow, and a banner that is too wide wraps onto the next line and breaks apart. The maker warns you when a banner is too wide for a phone screen. Keep words short, or split a longer phrase into two banners posted one after the other.

Emoji banners

Emoji mode draws letters with colored squares such as 🟦 on a ⬛ background. Emoji banners show in full color and work on every device, but each square counts as a character, so long words can reach Discord's message length limit quickly. Two to five letters is the sweet spot.

Where text art works well

Banners suit moments that deserve a big header: the top of a welcome or rules channel, a season or event kickoff, a stream going live, or a celebration when a member hits a milestone. In a busy chat they push other messages off screen, so post them where people expect a big header, and follow the banner with a normal message that says what it is about.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my banner look broken on my phone?

It is wider than the screen and wrapped. Use fewer letters, or switch to emoji mode with a short word.

Can I use text art in my bio?

The About Me box is narrow, so block banners usually wrap and break apart there. A short emoji banner of two or three letters fits better.

Which characters are supported?

Letters A–Z, numbers and common punctuation. Unsupported characters are listed under the input so you can remove them.

Is text art spammy?

Large banners take up a lot of space, so many servers limit them to announcement channels. Check the server's rules first.
